Broncos coach Vic Fangio had some funny moments at his combine press conference

Broncos coach Vic Fangio seemed to be in good spirits during his press conference at the NFL combine on Wednesday.

At the 5:36 mark in the video above, Fangio was asked about the Bears (he was Chicago’s defensive coordinator from 2015-2018).

“Bears? Who are they?” Fangio said with a smile. “Is that the Blakely Bears that I used to play in high school?”

Later in the press conference (8:52), Fangio was asked about the team’s decision to go after a veteran quarterback (Joe Flacco).

“Nice try, going around the end there,” Fangio said, “but I can’t talk about any of that right now. Nice try.”

NFL rules prohibit Fangio from talking about the Flacco trade until it becomes official when the new league year begins on March 13.

Fangio was asked about Flacco in a roundabout way, so he might have been able to get away with vaguely talking about having a “veteran quarterback,” but he didn’t want to take any chances.

We’ll hear all about the QB at his introductory press conference.
