Broncos coach Vic Fangio gives updates on DE Derek Wolfe, LB Josey Jewell

Denver Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe (ankle) and inside linebacker Josey Jewell (hamstring) suffered injuries during Sunday’s 27-16 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 3.

Wolfe and Jewell did not practice Wednesday but coach Vic Fangio said both players “have a chance” to play Sunday.

Wolfe (6-5, 285 pounds) has totaled nine tackles through three games. If Wolfe does not play in Week 4, DeMarcus Walker will likely replace him in the starting lineup.

Jewell (6-2, 236 pounds) has totaled 26 tackles through three weeks. If Jewell is ruled out this week, Corey Nelson will likely start in his place.

In related injury news, Fangio provided an update on fullback Andy Janovich (pectoral) on Monday. Fangio indicated that Janovich might play in Week 4 but the team won’t rush him back.

“There is a chance he plays, but we’ll see how he looks in practice,” the coach said. “I don’t ever want to put a guy out there that’s not completely ready to play.”

Sunday’s game will begin at 2:25 p.m. MT and will air on CBS.
