Broncos coach Vic Fangio comments on De’Vante Bausby’s chances of making team

De’Vante Bausby spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons with the Chicago Bears, playing under then-defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.

Bausby went on to spend time with the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles after that before landing with the San Antonio Commanders of the Alliance of American Football.

After the AAF closed down operations, Bausby signed a one-year deal with the Denver Broncos, reuniting with Fangio. His time in the AAF could prove to be beneficial.

“He’s got a little bit of an advantage in that he’s just come off playing in the AAF,” Fangio said of the cornerback on April 16. “His body is a little bit more in-tune to football shape right now than some of the other guys.”

Bausby’s not a lock to make the 53-man roster but he certainly has a shot.

“He’s got talent,” Fangio said. “He can run. He’s got movement abilities. He played a little bit for us a couple years ago, played a little bit for the Eagles I believe this past season, and obviously played in the spring league that just was going on. He’s got a chance.”

Bausby, 26, has recorded 26 tackles in 10 career games.
