Broncos’ Chris Harris calls Jacoby Brissett ‘very underrated’

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett has done strong job of leading the team to a winning record, and his performance has gotten the attention of Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr.

One of the true shutdown corners in the league, Harris told the Denver media his thoughts on Brissett. Suffice it to say, there is a high level of respect for the fourth-year quarterback.

“He’s done a solid job, I think. He’s definitely very underrated, he’s making smart decisions and he doesn’t beat them,” Harris said. “I think as a quarterback that is the No. 1 thing you always want—don’t try to beat my own team, do you know what I mean? Try to put them in great situations to win and that’s what he does.”

Brissett has done a nice job giving the Colts winning outings. They currently sit at 4-2 atop the AFC South, and their latest win showed the potential Brissett has leading the offense—resulting in a career-high 326 passing yards and four touchdowns.

The Colts will have to be very mindful of Harris during their preparations this week. Not may cornerbacks truly carry the label of a shutdown defender, but Harris is a prime example of it.

The Broncos defense will be without one of its great pass rushers in Bradley Chubb, but the unit is well-coached and does feature some star players—like Harris.

Regardless, the Colts will be looking to grab their fifth win of the season on Sunday when Harris and the Broncos come to Indy.
