Broncos center Connor McGovern is excited to block for Drew Lock again

Denver Broncos center Connor McGovern was a senior at Missouri when Drew Lock was the Tigers’ freshman quarterback. After the Broncos selected Lock in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft, the quarterback will be reunited with his former offensive lineman in Denver.

It’s safe to say McGovern is excited about the reunion.

“I have heard from Connor,” Lock said during a conference call with reporters on Friday evening. “I saw his text pop up, and I haven’t really gotten into my phone yet, I’ve been on the phone most the time. But he’s going to see a different guy.

“He’s going to see a mature quarterback who hopefully wins him some more games in the future than I won him his senior year. He’ll see a different guy. I’m excited for him to see the kind of player I am now and the kind of quarterback I’ve developed into being, and hopefully win a couple games with him playing.”

That’s good news for McGovern — and Denver’s entire offense.
