Broncos CB De’Vante Bausby may miss weeks with a cervical sprain

After suffering a neck injury and being carted off the field during Sunday’s game against the Chargers, Broncos cornerback De’Vante Bausby was taken to a local hospital for further testing.

Bausby had movement in all extremities and was released from the hospital after being diagnosed with a cervical sprain, the team said. He re-joined the Broncos last night to fly back to Denver with the team.

“Most symptoms of a neck sprain will go away within four to six weeks,” according to Elizabeth Quinn of verywellfit.com. “Severe injuries may take longer to heal.”

After Bausby left Sunday’s game in Los Angeles, he was replaced by Isaac Yiadom. Yiadom struggled in coverage and was eventually benched in favor or Davontae Harris. With Bausby likely set to miss several weeks, expect the Broncos to bring in at least one more cornerback.

Inside linebacker Justin Hollins was also injured Sunday. Denver coach Vic Fangio said Sunday afternoon that the linebacker has a sprained knee.
