Broncos CB De’Vante Bausby carted off field vs. Chargers

Denver Broncos cornerback De’Vante Bausby was carted off the field during the second quarter of a game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

Bausby was injured in a play when he collided with teammate Alexander Johnson, who is starting at linebacker in the place of an injured Josey Jewell.

The team announced that Bausby will not return to the game after suffering a neck injury. He totaled one tackle before leaving the contest. Denver also announced that the cornerback has “movement in all extremities” and is being taken to a hospital for further evaluation.

Before joining the Broncos, Bausby played in the Alliance of American Football this spring and led the league in interceptions. He has totaled 13 tackles and has broken up three passes this year.

With Bryce Callahan still recovering from a foot injury, Bausby has been a fill-in starter across from Chris Harris in Denver’s secondary. He was replaced by Isaac Yiadom after exiting the game in Los Angeles.

The Broncos currently lead the Chargers 14-0 in the first half.
