Broncos CB Chris Harris has amazing coverage stats since 2011

Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris has been holding out from the team’s offseason program, seeking a new contract. Harris is set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2020 and he wants a contract extension sooner rather than later.

Judging from Harris’ stats, it’s safe to say the cornerback deserves an extension — and a raise. Scott Barrett of ProFootballFocus.com recently tweeted some of the cornerback’s most impressive stats:

Harris, 29, signed with the Broncos as a college free agent out of Kansas following the 2011 NFL draft. He has been voted to four Pro Bowls since then, emerging as one of the league’s best slot cornerbacks.

Harris gave Denver a hometown discount on his last contract and he’s now seeking a better deal. Retired cornerback Champ Bailey, outside linebacker Von Miller and defensive end Derek Wolfe have all voiced their support for Harris in his bid to receive an extension.

Broncos general manager John Elway said in February that the team will not give any players extensions before the NFL draft.
