Broncos bring back DL Billy Winn

The Denver Broncos have signed defensive lineman Billy Winn, The Denver Post‘s Ryan O’Halloran first reported Monday. The news has since been confirmed by multiple media outlets.

Winn (6-4, 300 pounds) entered the league as a sixth-round pick out of Boise State with the Cleveland Browns in 2012. He spent the first four years of his career in Cleveland before joining the Indianapolis Colts.

After a one-year stint in Indianapolis, Winn joined the Broncos in 2016. He dressed for all 16 games that year, earning two starts. Serving as a rotational lineman, Winn totaled 19 tackles.

Winn was poised to receive a larger role in 2017 before he suffered a season-ending ACL injury in preseason. Denver placed him on injured reserve and did not re-sign him during the 2018 offseason.

After sitting out all of last season, Winn is now healthy again and returning to the team to compete for a rotational role on the defensive line. The 30-year-old defender has recorded 111 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions in his career.
