Broncos are league’s 6th-worst team in NFL power rankings

After losing to the Indianapolis Colts 15-13 on Sunday, the Denver Broncos dropped from No. 22 down to No. 27 in Nate Davis’ latest NFL power rankings for USA TODAY Sports. That makes them the sixth-worst team in the league, at least in the eyes of Davis.

Here is Davis’ commentary with Denver’s ranking:

Poor Joe Flacco, who endured neck injury while venting his spleen. At least QB-challenged team gets to see Brandon Allen and, likely, Drew Lock soon enough.

Flacco aggravated a neck injury in Week 8 and won’t play this week (he might even be placed on injured reserve). The Broncos will start Allen in his place and Brett Rypien will serve as his backup. Lock might not return to the team until after their Week 10 bye.

Denver is considered the worst team in the AFC West, behind the Kansas City Chiefs (No. 9), the Oakland Raiders (No. 20) and the Los Angeles Chargers (No. 21).

The New England Patriots remain ranked No. 1 and the Miami Dolphins are still ranked No. 32. View the complete power rankings here.
