Broncos are 2.5-point underdogs against Raiders in Week 1

The Denver Broncos are considered 2.5-point road underdogs against the Oakland Raiders in Week 1, according to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas (via USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds).

Because home teams are usually spotted a three-point advantage, Oakland is barely considered a favorite. Oddsmakers seem to consider the game a toss-up. The over-under for a combined score between the two teams is 43.

The Broncos are coming off a 6-10 season and third-place finish in the AFC West. The Raiders are coming off a 4-12 season and last-place finish in the division. The two rivals have faced off in Week 1 seven times in the past and Denver owns a 5-2 advantage in those contests (but Oakland owns a 34-25 home record in the all-time series).

The game will be played at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on Monday, Sept. 9 at 8:20 p.m. MT. The contest will be part of a “Monday Night Football” doubleheader and will be nationally televised on ESPN.

For the NFL’s season opener on Thursday, the Chicago Bears are considered three-point favorites against the Green Bay Packers. To view more NFL odds, be sure to check out the SportsBookWire.
