Broncos announce 7 roster moves

As expected, the Denver Broncos have signed linebacker Corey Nelson, cornerback Davontae Harris and linebacker Keishawn Bierria. The team officially announced the three signings on Monday morning.

To make room for the three new players, Denver placed quarterback Drew Lock (thumb), running back Theo Riddick (shoulder) and tight end Jake Butt (knee) on injured reserve. Those three moves were also expected.

Because Lock, Riddick and Butt were placed on IR after making the initial 53-man roster, they will be eligible to return after eight weeks. NFL teams are only allowed to bring back two players from IR per season, though, so one of those three will be done for the year.

The Broncos’ 53-man roster is now full.

The Broncos also announced Tuesday that running back Khalfani Muhammad has officially signed with the practice squad. Denver has now signed eight practice squad players — two more players will be added.

The Broncos will practice on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday this week to prepare for a Sept. 9 showdown vs. the Raiders.
