Broncos announce 3 roster moves

The Denver Broncos have promoted wide receiver Fred Brown from the 10-man practice squad to the 53-man roster, the team announced Tuesday.

To make room for Brown on the active roster, Denver waived wide receiver River Cracraft. To fill Brown’s former spot on the practice squad, the Broncos brought back Trinity Benson.

Brown (6-1, 195 pounds) is a first-year player out of Mississippi State. He caught eight passes for 90 yards and a touchdown in preseason. Brown will provide depth at receiver.

Cracraft (6-0, 195 pounds) is a second-year player out of Washington State who has been bouncing back and forth between Denver’s active roster and practice squad since 2017.

After the emergence of dynamic returner Diontae Spencer, Cracraft is no longer needed on special teams. He’s not as explosive as Brown on offense, either, which made him expendable for the Broncos.

Benson (6-0, 180 pounds) is a rookie out of East Central University. He will likely be the team’s new backup returner.
