Brisbane Broncos forward TC Robati has stood himself down from all club activities after being charged with sexual assault.

The 21-year-old will face court in January after being charged on December 24 for an alleged incident that took place at a Brisbane bar on December 21 while the playing group was on Christmas leave.

It is alleged that Robati inappropriately put his hand on a female patron.

The Broncos have reported the matter to the NRL integrity unit.

Brisbane CEO Dave Donaghy said the club "accepted TC's position in standing down from all club activities".

"There is now a legal process in place and that needs to be respected and adhered to," Donaghy said.

"We fully acknowledge that this is a serious matter and as a club, we are strongly opposed to any situation that involves the intrusion of personal boundaries with members of the public.

"The Board and I will review the matter further following TC's court appearance in January."

Robati made his NRL debut in 2021 after shining for Brisbane affiliate club Wynnum-Manly in the Queensland Cup.

He played 10 NRL games in that season and backed it up with a further seven matches in 2022.

The New Zealand-born forward came through the Broncos Academy and development pathways and impressed the club to such a degree that he signed an extension through until the end of 2024.

While mostly a back-rower due to his powerful edge running, Robati has also played as a front-rower.
