Brollies are banned at TRNSMT - and rain could be heading our way next weekend

Early predictions for the weather in Glasgow next week don't look like they will match last year's sweltering conditions during TRNSMT - meaning it might be an idea for the thousands heading to Glasgow Green to dig out the ponchos.

Last year festival-goers were treated to near-perfect summer conditions for the duration of the first three day weekend event, which featured headline performances by Liam Gallagher, Stereophonics and Arctic Monkeys.

But unfortunately at the moment next weekend won't see as much of a need to slap on the factor 50 - with weather predictions stating that Friday (July 12) is expected to be considerably cloudy with light rain.

Temperatures, however, will remain around the 20/21 degree mark, with Saturday (July 13) and Sunday (July 14) expected to be mostly dry with sunshine and some clouds, according to weather site AccuWeather.

And with brollies among the items folk are prohibited from bringing into the festival site next weekend alongside the likes of drugs, flares and selfie sticks - anyone selling ponchos either inside or outside might be on to a winner.

However, with all that being said, we don't think a spot of bad weather will stop thousands of folk from having an absolute blast at TRNSMT and lapping up performances by the likes of Stormzy, Richard Ashcroft and Lewis Capaldi!
