Helvijs “broky” Saukants has officially rejoined FaZe Clan’s active CS2 roster, bringing an end to his two-month stint on the bench.
“Recharged, refreshed, and readier than ever,” the team wrote in a short video posted on X (formerly Twitter) to announce his comeback. The clip ends with broky himself declaring, “I’m back.” He later reposted the video alongside a photo of NBA legend Michael Jordan saying the same message when he returned to the league in 1995.

- Håvard “rain” Nygaard
- David “frozen” Čerňanský
- Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski

Broky’s combeback effectively shuts the door on speculation surrounding a possible full-time move for Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, who had stepped in on loan for FaZe at IEM Dallas and Austin Major. With s1mple, the team placed 9th-12th in Dallas and reached the quarterfinals in Austin, falling short of securing a title in the first half of the 2025 CS2 season.
FaZe had benched broky in May and brought in s1mple from NAVI in hopes of reversing a disappointing form at the start of the year. The team missed the playoffs at IEM Katowice, BLAST Open Spring, and IEM Melbourne, and only managed deeper runs at PGL with lesser opposition. During that time, fans voiced concerns over broky’s declining performance.

Now back in the fold, the “Latvian Laser” aims to rediscover—and possibly surpass—his peak form. The star AWPer has been instrumental to FaZe’s biggest triumphs so far, including their PGL Major Antwerp 2022 victory, and runner-up finishes at last year’s PGL Major Copenhagen and Perfect World Shanghai Major. He has earned nine titles with the team, including an Intel Grand Slam, along with multiple MVP honors throughout his career.
FaZe’s IGL karrigan posted on X expressing his optimism and faith in broky. “He is looking good and hope this break did him good. I believe and trust in him to find his form again, (and) we know how good he is. Breaks are needed sometimes, and broky is part of the FaZe family. It’s not easy and it will never be, but we have work in front of us.”
Broky will make his return to competitive CS2 when FaZe Clan competes at the stacked IEM Cologne 2025, scheduled to take place from July 23 to Aug. 3.
