Broker calls off takeover talks

Is this one of the quickest ever takeover collapses?

This morning financial services minnow Dowgate Capital said it was in talks to be bought by stockbroker Daniel Stewart. But it warned there was no certainty an offer would be made.

Quite right. Just a few hours later, Daniel Stewart said bluntly that the talks had been terminated. Dowgate shares have fallen nearly 7% to 6.75p after touching 7.5p, while Daniel Stewart is 10.5% lower at 2.125p.
