Broken down train at Airdrie causing disruption to rail services

Train passengers are experiencing delays on the Balloch - Airdrie line this morning.

ScotRail anticipates the disruption will continue until 11am.

A broken down train is causing issues, leading to services running between Airdrie and Balloch being terminated and starting back at Coatdyke.

A ScotRail statement reads: "Due to a broken down train the Balloch to Airdrie services will terminate and start back from Coatdyke. Passengers travelling between Coatdyke and Airdrie can travel on the Milngavie / Edinburgh and Helensburgh / Edinburgh services which are running as scheduled."
