Tributes from across the UK have poured in tonight in honour of Ayr army medic Brodie Gillon.
A special candlelit memorial was held in the Lance Corporal's honour following her tragic death in Iraq earlier this month.
Brodie, 26, died alongside two US soldiers when 18 rockets struck the Camp Taji base in Iraq on March 11.
She was the first British woman to be killed in Operation Shader - a British non-combat mission to train Iraqi troops in fighting and saving lives.
Brodie’s family today urged people to light candles at 9pm as a touching way of paying tribute to her.
And the response on social media was huge, with people using the hashtag #shinebrightbrodie to come together.
Around the country, people responded by taking to social media to share their own tributes.

It a statement released earlier on social media, Brodie's family had described the pain of their loss.
They said: “Our hearts are irreparably broken at the loss of our beautiful, bright and fun loving Brodie.
"When circumstances dictate we will hold a memorial for Brodie which pays fitting tribute to all she was, but for now we ask you to keep her in your thoughts and care for each other the way she cared for you all.
"She brought immeasurable love, fun and energy to our lives and was so generous in every way.
"She was determined and tenacious, wonderfully funny, courageous and caring.
"Brodie was a force of nature, a strong independent young woman.
"She was fierce, with a strong mind and sensitive soul. Her healing and strength will guide us as we carry on without her, for her.
"Our family would like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts, generosity and support at this difficult time."
