Brock Lesnar makes shocking return at WWE SummerSlam and brutally attacks John Cena

Brock Lesnar made his long-awaited WWE return at SummerSlam on Saturday night.

Following the conclusion of the show's main event between Roman Reigns and John Cena, the Beast Incarnate's music hit and the crowd went absolutely wild.

He made a beeline for Reigns, who had just defeated Cena to retain his Universal title.

The pair engaged in an intense face-off as the former WWE champion made it clear the "Tribal Chief" is his next target.

Reigns then left the ring along with his “special counsel” Paul Heyman, who was once in the corner of Lesnar.

But when the cameras were off the air, the action continued as fans in attendance posted videos on social media of Cena stumbling back into the ring following his loss.

Brock Lesnar arrived in Las Vegas and went straight for Roman Reigns (WWE)

Lesnar, who made his first appearance on WWE television since WrestleMania 36 last April, wasted no time getting physical as he grabbed Cena and delivered two devastating german suplexes.

He then hoisted the 16-time world champion on his shoulders before delivering a vicious F5, leaving Cena in a heap on the mat.

Reigns has now reigned supreme as Universal champion for a year and defeated an impressive list of superstars in that time.

With Lesnar almost certainly next in line, will the Head of the Table still be sitting pretty on his throne, or will he fall at the hands of The Beast?

Lesnar was not the only superstar to make a triumphant return at SumemrSlam, as Becky Lynch appeared before the raucous crowd and wasted no time defeating Bianca Belair to become the new Smackdown women’s champion in just 26 seconds.

The “EST” was scheduled to face Sasha Banks in a rematch from WrestleMania, but with the Boss unable to compete, it was Carmella who had initially been chosen to replace her.

However, Lynch entered proceedings and tossed Carmella out of the ring before laying a challenge down to Belair.

Shortly after the bell rang Lynch clocked Belair in the face with a right hand before a modified “Rock Bottom” of sorts from “The Man” sealed the win and celebrated with the belt in front of the stunned former champion.

Elsewhere, Edge defeated Seth Rollins in a pulsating encounter and Lashley retained his WWE title against Goldberg after a knee injury left the Hall of Famer unable to continue.

Charlotte Flair once again became the Raw women’s champion after outlasting Nikki A.S.H and Rhea Ripley in a triple threat match, while Randy Orton and Riddle became new Raw tag team champions in the show’s opener.
