Broadway star Laurel Griggs died age 13 after a 'massive asthma attack'

Broadway star Laurel Griggs passed away aged 13 after a massive asthma attack, according to reports.

The Saturday Night Live star died on November 5 in New York City.

Her family told how doctors at Mount Sinai Hospital fought to save her life but nothing could be done.

Laurel's grandfather David Rivlin called his granddaughter a "real princess" in a touching tribute on Facebook .

He shared his granddaughter had big plans for the future after launching her dream acting career.

"The world lost a real princess who only wanted to make the future happy for all,” he wrote.

“Acting was a just a childhood dream come true and she had big plans for the future.”

Laurel was a super star from a young age and rubbed shoulders with the hottest Hollywood stars.

She found her feet in the acting world at age six when she starred in Tennessee William's classic Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.

In the production, the actress worked alongside Hollywood's queen Scarlett Johansson.

Later, she went onto work with the likes of Kristen Stewart and Blake Lively as well as Steve Carrell.

Laurel shared the screen with the stars in the movie Cafe Society which was directed by Woody Allen in 2016.
