What should replace the M&S store

Sam Ward believes that the store should become an indoor farmers market and says "that would be great" for Bristol.

Others such as Simon Taylor, Mandy Shearman and Helen McCausland both agree that it should become a home for the homeless.

Meanwhile, Daniel Packer jokingly suggested it should become "student flats as we seem to have a shortage of them."

David Eddolls also mockingly suggested that Bristol needs "another vape or phone shop."

David Neal struggles to see a big brand fulfilling the premises and said: "No major retailer will go into Broadmead now.

"It's a big premises, so maybe it could be changed to some sort of market whereby small retailers could set up a stall. However, this won't happen, as it will become some sort of accommodation."

Not everyone thinks the building will become occupied with Tania Blackman saying: "It will probably just be left empty like all the other empty shops, with the diesel charges coming in, Bristol will be like a ghost town as everyone shops out of town."

Alison Tuttiett believes that a big brand could occupy the building and added: "C&A would be nice, I miss that shop. I must say though I will miss M&S, such a shame."

Affordable accommodation for the hospital was expressed as a possibility by Aliciaa Connick.

She wrote: "It should turn into affordable accommodation for parents and guardians of the children in the children's hospital. That would be really good."
