Two new teasers have aired for the second series of Broadchurch, completing the trilogy of clips which began a week ago. In the first, David Tennant’s character Alec Hardy offers a handy and extremely concise summary of the first series. “There was a boy, and he was killed. I caught the killer. So why am I still here?”
In the second, Olivia Colman’s character Ellie Miller begins with the same line. “There was a boy, and he was killed. What happened then destroyed my family, my job, and my town. So what do I do now?”
The questions are pertinent, given that many viewers had wondered how Hardy and Miller might fit into a second series of the show, which ended with Hardy solving the murder of 11-year-old Danny Latimer.
Broadchurch will return to ITV in January.
