When it comes to fashion, a tyre brand isn’t typically what would first pop into our heads. Streetwear? Sure. Greasy, gritty tyres and workshops? Not exactly. But for American clothing company Brixton, that’s exactly what they wanted to lean into with their latest collection, a collaboration with Goodyear.
The Brixton x Goodyear collection is comprised of 11 men’s and women’s T-shirts, jackets and caps that lean into a vintage garage feel, reminiscent of the ’70s and ’80s. Brixton started out selling vintage-inspired newsboy caps out of a garage in California, so it’s not just a random collaboration built off of vibes.
Personally, when I think of car garages, I get a vivid image of sweaty men and ratty clothes soiled with oil stains and tears. So when this fashion news landed in my inbox, I wasn’t all too keen drop everything and take a look, to be blatantly honest. But when I clicked through to the site, I was… pleasantly surprised.

To my disbelief, the collection is actually pretty cool.
Brixton and Goodyear have leaned into the nostalgia, but not in a tacky way. The pieces — especially the garage jackets — feel fresh out of a ’80s film, and are kinda giving Grease vibes. And while the clothes have Goodyear branding on them, they don’t look like a mechanic’s uniform; they can definitely be styled for a casual streetwear look.
My personal favourite from the collection is the Goodyear Mechanics Women’s Garage Jacket ($149.95). Bomber jackets have made a resurgence, and this windbreaker/bomber hybrid doesn’t only fit the autumn colour palette, but could look pretty cool styled with some baggy jeans and sneakers. And say what you will about mustard, but I think it’s a great colour.

The Goodyear Trademark Lightweight Coaches Jacket ($179.95) is up there amongst my top picks, too. Made from 100 per cent cotton, it has a worn denim look to it (but in a chic way), with the Goodyear logo on both the front and back.
