Britton Colquitt ends up with the Minnesota Vikings

The Cleveland Browns stunned the NFL by choosing to keep undrafted rookie Jamie Gillan as the team’s punter over veteran Britton Colquitt. The rise of the “Scottish Hammer” cost Colquitt his job even though he’s been one of the NFL’s best and most consistent punters over the last few seasons.

Colquitt was not subject to waivers as a vested veteran, so he got to choose his new landing spot. And he chose the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

The Vikings replaced young punter Matt Wile with Colquitt. During his three seasons with the Browns, Colquitt proved to be one of the most reliable punters and holders. His ability to pin the ball deep within opposing territory is a hallmark trait.

We here at Browns Wire wish Colquitt nothing but the best!
