Brittany Mahomes Trolls ESPN’s Bart Scott With Preseason Receipt

Four days after Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 38–35 win in Super Bowl LVII on Sunday, his wife Brittany made sure to set the record straight on those who doubted Kansas City’s ability to return to the NFL’s biggest stage ahead of the 2022 season.

Brittany trolled ESPN’s Bart Scott with a picture of the NFL analyst saying that the Chiefs would miss the playoffs this season during an appearance on the network’s show Get Up during the preseason. Scott specifically said that “it could be a reset year” in which Kansas City would not make it to the postseason.

“I think the Achilles heel is going to be your defense because I think maybe you have the fourth-best defense within the [AFC West],” Scott previously said.

In that preseason segment, ESPN’s Robert Griffin III could not believe what he was hearing from Scott. Turns out, Scott was off the mark in his preseason prognostication of the Chiefs. Not only did Kansas City win its seventh consecutive AFC West crown, the Chiefs also defeated the Jaguars and a Bengals’ squad with an injured Mahomes on their way to this year’s Super Bowl victory.

Mahomes, who earned his second Super Bowl MVP honors after Sunday’s game while playing through a high ankle sprain, finished with 182 yards and three touchdowns that included leading scoring drives on all four-second half possessions. The 2022 MVP also became the first player to win the Super Bowl and the MVP in the same season since Rams QB Kurt Warner accomplished the feat in 1999.

The Chiefs have now won two Super Bowls in the last four seasons.
