Lewis Capaldi left BRITs viewers baffled after he was booed by the crowd during his speech.
The 24-year-old appeared on stage to present Dua Lipa with the award for MasterCard British Album of the Year.
He walked on stage to the audience applauding him, only for him to tell them to "shut up" multiple times before he greeted them: "Hello motherf***ers."
Producers rushed to mute his mic before he went on to say: "I'm f***ing s-", only to be muted again.
As he went back to the script, Lewis told fans: "Sorry, I'm reading off a card here... how is everyone doing? It's great to be here tonight.
"It's just great to be out of the house, to be honest."
The star was then muted for a full 10 seconds as he continued his sweary rant, leaving viewers at home baffled.
Lewis continued: "Let’s hope this year is even bigger and better than ever for British music," before he added: "And obviously let's also hope Scotland win at the Euros."
This prompted boos from the crowd, which forced Lewis to hold up his cue card and shout: "I didn't f***ing write it!"
He concluded his speech by saying: "Some good s***."
Confused viewers took to Twitter to ask what Lewis said that caused the audience to boo.
One person said: "Can anybody tell me what exactly #lewiscapaldi said about Scotland that made people boo him? I tried over 10 times and I just can't understand him."
Another put: "who tf would boo THE Lewis Capaldi?"
Whilst someone else commented: "Lewis Capaldi on stage at the brits saying let’s hope Scotland win the euros, got boo’d to f***."
