Brits to spend four hours watching television this Christmas

Millions of people will sit down in front of the television up and down the country this Christmas. In fact, it is thought many Britons will watch over four hours when the big day rolls around next Sunday.

According to The Mirror, some two-thirds said they intend to use the festive season to get up to speed on their favourite dramas, comedy series and films. In fact, watching television is said to be our second most common festive activity.

It is only topped by spending time with your family. Just over a quarter of families said they plan to watch the first King’s Speech on Christmas Day.

A third of TV fans plan to curl up with a festive film and 12% will binge-watch their top reality shows, the poll of 2,000 viewers by streaming service Crime + Investigation Play discovered. And 35% said they would most likely be streaming their favourite shows rather than watching live television.

But 45% admitted they can feel overwhelmed by the amount of shows available to watch and stream. And 34% admitted to having arguments with loved ones over what to watch during the festivities.
