Brits set to enjoy Indian Summer as sub-zero temperatures make way for 18C heat

Brits are set to enjoy a mini Indian Summer this week following a spell of sub-zero temperatures.

Parts of the UK are expected to see temperatures of up to 18C towards the end of the week.

But not before a cold start with lows of -2C in Scotland today, the Mirror reports.

The chilly minus temperatures will then make way for unseasonably warm weather and some bursts of sunshine, according to the Met Office.

In Greater Manchester, temperatures are expected to reach 16C by Saturday lunchtime.

Much of central, south, east, south-east and south-west England will bask in sunshine on Tuesday, however northern parts of Scotland will see heavy rain.

On Wednesday, high winds are expected to batter the north, while dry and sunny weather heats up the south.

Some sunny spells are possible in north-west and north England.

Thursday will be dominated by a mix of cloud and sunshine, with light showers in central, north, north-west England, Northern Ireland and most of Scotland.

Despite temperatures soaring on Friday, there will also be some downpours, marking a resumption of the October washout.

By Saturday morning  temperatures will be up in the teens for most of England and parts of southern Scotland.

However, the mercury is set to plummet next week as temperatures drop to -6C on Halloween, according to the Mail Online.
