There was a very unexpected opening to this year's Brit Awards as two of Line of Duty's most popular stars joined viral sensation Jackie Weaver to kick things off.
First on screen at the stroke of 8pm were AC-12's very own Kate Fleming and Steve Arnott, aka actors Vicky McLure and Martin Compston, who was the receiving end of a jibe from Brits host Jack Whitehall over his Scottish accent, which is well disguised on the BBC drama.
Then came the big shock when Jackie, the breakout star of what should have been an uneventful meeting of Handforth Parish Council.
And, just as she ruthlessly kicked off the chairman in that much watched video, Jackie proved she DID have the authority by booting Jack off the video chat.
ITV viewers were delighted by Vicky, Martin and Jackie's unexpected Brits star turns and flocked to Twitter to share their reactions.
One tweeted: "brilliant cameo role for Jackie Weaver. Good script and well acted," and another posted: "brilliant cameo role for Jackie Weaver. Good script and well acted."
A third referenced Line of Duty head honcho Ted Hasting's famous catchphrase and commented: "Mother of god... it’s @jackieweaver."
Jackie introduced the first performers of this year's ceremony - Coldplay - who gave a rendition of their new single Higher Power from a pontoon on the River Thames.
They were swiftly followed by Dua Lipa who performed a barnstorming medley of hits from Future Nostalgia.
Early wins on the night came for Arlo Parks who got the Breakthrough award and Little Mix who got Best Group.
