Brits left raging by person making cup of tea with water first and tea bag last

There's very little Brits are more fond of than a cup of tea - so you either have to be very brave or very stupid to openly mock one.

But a video has surfaced online showing a disturbing technique of making a cuppa, which has been labelled 'painful' to watch.

A clip posted to TikTok, to the sound of the EastEnders theme tune, is captioned 'How to destroy a British person in 15 seconds' and has racked up more than 730,000 views.

It begins with a mug being filled up with boiling water before a generous serving of milk is added.

Next comes the sugar before, finally, the tea bag is dunked in and unceremoniously removed after just a few seconds, leaving the 'tea' the most disappointing shade we've ever seen.

What on earth is going on here? (TikTok)

Just for good measure, a Jaffa cake is tossed in before the whole cup is emptied onto the pavement outide.

It was successful in its goal to trigger the fury of Brits across the nation, who have flooded the comments for the video with almost 8,000 replies.

One raged: "HOW DARE THEE THAT IS OUR SACRED DRINK."

It actually hurts to look at (TikTok)

A second commented: "How dare you post this! Imma have to listen to God Save the Queen to calm me down!"

Another demanded: "First. TEA BAG FIRST."

A fourth suggested: "Put this in reverse."

But not everyone saw a problem with the clip, as one said: "I'm British and that's my cup of tea" - which is possibly even more distrubing.

Thankfully x_JustKidding_x 's video was followed up with a tutorial of how to make a proper cuppa in a far more rational order.

The tea bag is placed in the mug first, followed by sugar, water and milk - resulting in a drink that we may actually allow to pass our lips.

Please do not attempt to recreate or reenact the video above as some viewers may find it disturbing.
