Brits can bag flights from £19 to some of Spain's best beach resorts this summer

You could be on one of Spain's most popular beaches in three hours for less than £20.

The spring in the UK has failed to kick into action so far, with Atlantic winds and the Gulf Stream bringing with them lots of rain, wind and surprisingly cold weather so far this April and May.

If the situation doesn't improve - although a recent weather forecast suggested that it soon will - then Brits would be forgiven for looking elsewhere for a slice of sunshine, Wales Online reports.

Happily you could soon be flying out to Malaga, the Spanish city best known for its stunning beaches without breaking the bank.

BudgetAir and Ryanair are offering one-way flights from Cardiff International Airport, directly to Malaga for as little as £19 on Tuesday, June 27.

While the southern Spanish seaside resort is a great place to visit if you want blue skies and sunshine almost every day, its position on the coast means temperatures don't go much higher than 32C.

That is ideal weather to climb the hill and explore the fort on its top in the centre of the city, wander down the beach front or have a delicious, affordable glass of gin and tonic in a roof top bar.

The beach which runs along the length of the city is great for lounging on during the way and leads to a clean and deep blue sea which is regularly populated by turtles that venture close to the shore.

Other highlights in Malaga include the Picasso museum, which features some of the artist's greatest works and information about his time growing up in the city.

The iconic Bar Urbano is definitely worth a visit in the small hours of the morning to witness its tender rapidly producing one euro shots from memory from a list of around 100.

While not quite as big a bargain as the Cardiff route, flights can be bagged for £54 from London Luton with easyJet in the middle of July.

If you're able to get to Cardiff Airport then there are plenty of other affordable flights to popular destinations across Europe you can bag this June, for under £50.

France has a mix of beautiful beaches and historical cities that make it a much-loved place to visit all year round. There are cheaper flights from Cardiff to multiple cities in France, including it's capital:

If pounding techno music in achingly cool clubs, swims across Bavarian lakes or hikes through the Black Forest are more your bag, then the Welsh capital also links up with the following German places:

Alternatively a summer break in Italy - the home of arguably the world's most delicious cuisine and its most beautiful surviving historical artefacts - can be achieved in the following cities linked up with Cardiff:

If you have a particular destination in mind and you can be flexible with departure dates, many price comparison websites let you scan across a given time period to find the cheapest available ticket.
