Britney vs Spears director defends her Netflix documentary after singer calls out projects

One of the latest documentaries based on Britney Spears, her journey through pop stardom and now her current conservatorship situation is Britney VS Spears.

This was released on Netflix on September 28, and showcases the battle between Britney and her father Jamie Spears who is in charge of the conservatorship.

The Toxic singer called the documentary makers out for focussing on her part as she currently tries to move forward with her life.

Britney posted on Instagram : "It's really crazy guys ... I watched a little bit of the last documentary and I must say I scratched my head a couple of times.

"I really try to disassociate myself from the drama !!! Number one ... that's the past !!! Number two ... can the dialogue get any classier.

"Number three ... wow they used the most beautiful footage of me in the world !!! What can I say .. the EFFORT on their part."

Taking to Twitter to share her pride at the release of her passion project, Erin wrote: ‘So proud of #BritneyVsSpears which is out in the world. I started working on it 2.5 years ago and much was unknown.

"I know it’s an incredibly sensitive subject and we worked tirelessly to make sure we were providing the information that backed up what Britney said in court..’

"We did this through investigative reporting and fact-checking. to be honest, I loved looking at footage of her, and not a single day would go by where I wouldn’t marvel at her talent and undeniable charisma. I could not have done this without @jennylsq [journalist Jenny Eliscu] 2/3.

"The team at @netflix and @storysyndicate_ always had our back considering the immense obstacles we went through.

"I know above all, that the fan community created the #freebritney movement. This is a film for you and for others to know your work. I am humbled to play a small part."

The 39-year-old pop sensation is currently in the middle of trying to legally end her conservatorship which has controlled her life since 2008.
