Britney Spears has been dubbed "Queen of trolling the internet" with one of her latest cryptic posts.
The newly free pop star took to Instagram earlier this week to welcome a "new addition to the family" and asked her followers to guess "if it's a boy or a girl".
In the short clip, the singer, 40, can be seen by a Christmas tree, feeding what fans believe to be an animal with a milk bottle - with her back to the camera throughout the entire footage.
"New addition to the family [shocked-face emoji] guess if it’s a boy or a girl [pink bow emoji] … thank you again baby @samasghari !!!!" Britney captioned the cute video to her 37.8million Instagram followers.
The star - who recently became engaged to Sam Asghari - has often spoke of her desire to give birth to a third child, particularly yearning to welcome a daughter into the world.
The mum-of-two told a court earlier this year that she hoped to start a family with her actor beau but had been forced to have contraception fitted in her body due to her controversial conservatorship.
The award-winning singer shares two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline and has been upfront about wanting to become a mum for the third time with her current partner Sam, 27.
"I would like to progressively move forward, and I want to have the real deal. I want to be able to get married and have a baby," Britney emotionally confessed during her virtual testimony in June.
"I have an [IUD] inside of myself so I don’t get pregnant. They don’t want me to have children — any more children."
After the conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, Britney is now free to take control of her own reproductive choices.
Thanks to her deliberately cryptic post on Instagram, many would have thought the singer may have been announcing a pregnancy and a baby but her loyal fans knew her sense of humour too well.
"I think its a baby puppy!" one guessed in the comments.
"Queen of trolling the internet," another quipped.
“I love trollney,” a third agreed.
Another fan weighed in, guessing a different animal: "I am thinking a kitten."
Last month, Britney publicly announced her plans to add to her family after gaining her freedom.
"I’m thinking about having another baby!!!" she captioned an image of adult feet next to those of a child standing on their tiptoes on Instagram.
"I wonder if this one is a girl. She’s on her toes reaching for something … that’s for sure !!!!"
In September this year, Sam popped the question to Britney after give years of dating.
The happy couple haven't revealed much about their wedding plans, but the pop icon did confirm on Instagram last month that fashion powerhouse Donatella Versace will be designing her dress for when she does walk down the aisle.
