Britney Spears has left fans concerned after she uploaded a dance routine that depicted her choking herself on Instagram.

In the now-deleted clip, the singer, 41, could be seen dancing around her studio clad in a yellow crop top and black shorts from her recent holiday to Hawaii.

Then, midway through her performance, she wrapped her hands around her neck, in faux-choking motion.

Posting the video to her social media, Spears captioned it: “Me and Maui!!! 6 days ago I was in the rainforest there… just talking to Mother Nature!!! All the babies in the pool in Maui had their tongues out!!!

“Not sure what that’s about but I think it’s my new thing!!! Pss you guys should really come out here and talk to her!!! SHE’S REALLY NICE!!!”

While the Everytime hitmaker expressed herself through dance, many of her followers were left concerned by her choice of moves and warned that it could be “triggering” to fans.

One worried fan penned under the post: “Britney seemed like she was doing so well but this has freaked me out!!! Why is she choking herself. OMG.”

“So bizarre. I hope she finds the help she needs and those close to her are looking out for her,” another commented.

A third added: “Britney we love you. Please don’t do things like this in your videos. It can be very triggering for some people. I hope you’re okay.”

Spears has sparked concern in recent months due to her furious social-media outbursts and unpredictable Instagram content ever since her 14-year conservatorship ended in December.

Recently, the songstress was called out by fans who accused her of “body-shaming” fellow pop singer Christina Aguilera and her backing dancers in an Instagram post.

Shortly after Spears posted her comments, a source told Entertainment Weekly that Aguilera unfollowed her on the social-media platform.

In the Toxic singer’s controversial post, she wrote about wanting to be surrounded by “fat people” in order to feel thin, before making reference to Aguilera’s backing dancers.

Her alleged dig read: “I mean if I had Christina Aguilera’s dancers I would have looked extremely small… I mean why not talk about it ??”

Immediately after sharing her thoughts, the Lucky songstress was urged to “delete” her post as she received a wave of criticism from fans.

Following the controversy, Spears clarified her comments and claimed that her sentiments were “a projection of the insecurities” she deals with on a daily basis.

Spears also thanked her former Mickey Mouse Club co-star for “inspiring” her and branded Aguilera “a beautiful woman of power”.
