Britney Spears fans have shared their delight after she revealed she has been building bridges with son Jayden after being estranged for several years.
The Toxic singer, 42, took to Instagram on Monday to share a video showing the 18-year-old driving a convertible through the countryside.
In the accompanying caption, she offered an update on his life, and how they have been working on healing their relationship.
“He is 6’3 and his hands are so big now !!! How long am I going to be in shock ??? It’s so incredibly crazy, it’s not even funny !!! I’m blessed !!! Just please be careful with my heart too !!!” she wrote.
Spears shares two children with her ex-husband Kevin Federline – Jayden and 19-year-old Sean.
The boys were largely raised by Federline and moved with him to Hawaii in 2023.
Spears and Jayden first reconciled in November 2024, with a source telling Page Six: “Britney is thrilled to have her baby back”. Another source said: “Everything is moving in the right direction.”
Until then, Spears had been paying her ex $10,000 (£7,840) biweekly in the form of child support with reports of that figure reaching as high as $40,000 (£31,400) when he received full custody.
Spears enjoyed an emotional reunion with them last Christmas after revealing she hadn’t seen them in two years.
“Tears of joy and literally in shock everyday… koo koo crazy so in love and blessed!!!” she said at the time.
While Spears has her comments on social media disabled, many fans flocked to Reddit to share their thoughts.
“I hope they just genuinely get to know each other and support each other. Brit needs one real person in her corner. Would love if it were her son(s)”, wrote one person.
Others were blown away by how much Jayden looked like his famous mum.
“He looks so much like her,” said one.
“The video preview showed just his face without the hair and I thought for a second this was an old video of Britney driving,” agreed another.
Another said: “This is so great for them. It’s nice to see them spending time together and driving makes it even more special given that Britney has been vocal so many times about how driving gives her a sense of freedom.”
