Britney Spears praised as 'queen of cinema' for glowing review of huge flop Dolittle

Britney Spears has been spending her time in coronavirus lockdown watching multiple films, and it turns out she’s a huge fan of one that’s considered one of the year’s worst so far.

The singer sat down to watch Dolittle, the Robert Downey Jr flop that currently has a paltry 15 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes, and branded it “a must see” on Instagram.

"The animal characters are hilarious and there seems to be a Special Tone throughout the whole movie, which I find hard to find these days,” she wrote of the film that actually features a scene where the lead character removes a set of bagpipes from a constipated dragon.

Spears continued: “So if you watch this movie and you’re as enamoured as I was with his jackets and clothing... don’t get lost like I did. just remember he’s a man who can speak to animals and he’s brilliant.”

She also said Downey Jr's performance was "so genuine you fall in love with him".

Following the review, many people have been celebrating the singer on social media.

“Britney Spears being in love with Dolittle made my day,” one wrote, with another calling her the “queen of cinema”.

One person added: “Britney Spears’ review of Dolittle is the only bright light in a dreary, dark world.”

Earlier this week, Spears updated the lyrics to her 1998 hit “…Baby One More Time” amid the coronavirus pandemic, changing the words to: “My loneliness is saving me.”
