Britney Spears has sent Aussie fans into a tizzy after teasing a potential comeback tour Down Under, saying she may visit the country “very soon”.
Spears dropped the revelation in an Instagram Post over the weekend while sharing an old pic of herself behind a piano that she is gifting to her youngest son Jayden Federline, who she plans on bringing along for the Aussie tour.
“I hope to be sitting on a stool with a red rose in my hair, in a bun, performing with my son… in the UK and AUSTRALIA very soon,” Spears wrote.
While she stopped short of giving further deets about the tour — which would mark her first Aussie stint in 17 years — Spears did confirm she’ll “never perform in the US again” due to “extremely sensitive reasons”.

The exact reason behind her not performing in the US is not known, but the clearer schedule certainly leaves room for what would be Spears’ first run of Aussie shows since 2009.
That year, the pop star performed a whopping 16 shows across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide as part of her The Circus Starring Britney Spears world tour.
The jaunt garnered controversy when it was reported that some concert-goers left the shows because Spears was lipsyncing, prompting Aussie tour promoter Paul Dainty to issue a fiery response.
“I’m embarrassed, with such a big international entourage here with Britney, to be part of the Australian media when I see that kind of totally inaccurate reporting,” Dainty said at the time.

Elsewhere, Spears was reported to be visiting Sydney back in 2023 as part of the promo tour for her memoir The Woman In Me, but those rumours turned out to be false.
Spears hasn’t released new music beyond a pair of singles with Elton John in 2022 and will.i.am in 2023, so it’s unclear what her prospective tour setlist would be comprised of.
Her old catalogue is iconic enough, so I doubt anyone would complain if she dusted off “Oops!…I did it again” or “If You Seek Amy”.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated about any details regarding Spears’ potential Aussie tour, but in the meantime, I’m gonna listen to Circus for the millionth time.
