Britney Spears hinted at 'freedom' before dad Jamie agreed to step down as conservator

Britney Spears hinted at her freedom in a cryptic post just one hour before it was announced her father, Jamie Spears, had agreed to step down as her conservator.

The Toxic hitmaker, 39, had battled for years to have her father removed, calling his control of her affairs “abusive".

According to new legal documents filed today, Jamie now wants to work with the court on an orderly transition to somebody new.

Ahead of the milestone news on Britney’s 12-year conservatorship, the legendary singer hinted at her freedom in a mysterious Instagram post.

The Hit Me Baby One More Time singer said it was time for her to let go, and that with letting go comes ‘freedom’.

Britney said she’s done with being ‘so cautious’ when it comes to living her life (Instagram)

Britney, who has sparked endless speculation in relation to the ‘hidden messages’ within her Instagram captions, suggested that she’s done with being ‘so cautious’ when it comes to living her life as she showcased her famous dance skills in the intriguing post.

While busting out some of her most notable dance moves, the superstar penned: “You can see the last dance in red top I’m very hesitant when dancing.

“But letting go is freedom!!!

“I’m not sure exactly why I’m being so cautious. It might be my left foot that was broken talking to me.

“You can tell when I turn but hopefully, I will let go thoroughly and follow through soon.”

Britney’s cryptic caption was posted just one hour before the news emerged that her father would be stepping down as her main conservator after almost 13 years.

In new documents Mr Spears' lawyer confirms that Britney’s father is set to step down from his role.

The papers read: "There are, in fact, no actual grounds for suspending or removing Mr Spears as the Conservator of the Estate and it is highly debatable whether a change in conservator at this time would be in Ms Spears' best interests."

"Nevertheless, even as Mr Spears is the unremitting target of unjustified attacks, he does not believe that a public battle with his daughter over his continuing service as her conservator would be in her best interests.

“So, even though he must contest this unjustified Petition for his removal, Mr Spears intends to work with the Court and his daughter's new attorney to prepare for an orderly transition to a new conservator."

The documents add: "Regardless of his formal title, Mr Spears will always be Ms Spears' father, he will always love her unconditionally, and he will always look out for her best interests."

It comes after the singer has appeared before a Los Angeles court in recent weeks as she battles to take control of her life.

Britney has been under the legal conservatorship since 2008 after her public breakdown amid her divorce from Kevin Federline.
