Britney Spears hails Free Britney movement after end of father's conservatorship

Britney Spears has thanked her supportive fans for fighting her corner as her 13-year conservatorship is finally coming to an end.

On Wednesday, Judge Brenda Penny suspended the pop star's father Jamie Spears from his role controlling her conservatorship, handing the reins to John Zabel until December 31.

The 39-year-old songstress opened up about how her life is finally beginning to change amid her battle, and that everything is heading in the right direction.

Britney has now taken the opportunity to share her gratitude with her followers who have backed her every step of the way, taking to Twitter to post some kind words.

"#FreeBritney movement … I have no words … because of you guys and your constant resilience in freeing me from my conservatorship … my life is now in that direction!!!!!" she shared.

"I cried last night for two hours cause my fans are the best and I know it…

"I feel your hearts and you feel mine … that much I know is true!!!!!"

In recent days, the Toxic hitmaker told her supporters that while she’s happy her life is moving in the right direction after all these years, she is still learning to heal from the ‘abuse’ she suffered at the hands of her father.

“Although there is change and things to celebrate in my life, I still have a lot of healing to do,” the pop star wrote on Instagram.

“Thankfully, I have a good support system and am taking time to understand it’s okay to slow down and breathe.

“Only through self-love, I can pray, love, and support others in return.”

Britney’s emotional post came after her efforts to be free of the legal arrangement that has been in place since 2008.

Her father has strongly protested against his removal, but fans of the singer were over the moon with the decision, that marked the end of Jamie's controversial control over his daughter’s life.

Following the fast-paced developments in what was once a very slow-moving case, the judge has now set a date of November 12 on whether the conservatorship will be terminated.
