Britney Spears' fresh start as star announces film role in first new project ‘The Idol’

Britney Spears announces new project starring in a film called ‘The Idol’ as she has fresh start

The talented star took to Instagram and posted a snap of a tabby cat, and a red glass of wine, to share she had joined the cast of a film, "I just shot a movie titled THE IDOL ... it's guaranteed to have hits and a lot of bright pics to put in my beautiful family's faces !!!!! I hope you guys are having a merry ole jolly time cause I sure am !!!!"

The new project will be Britney’s first since a judge terminated the controversial conservatorship on November 12th, that has controlled her life for just 14 years.

On Sept. 29, Britney’s father was suspended permanently as her conservator and estate, clearing the way for the conservatorships to end completely.

The Free Britney movement and several high profile celebrities such as Cher, and Madonna have backed Britney’s freedom to have her regain control of her life, and her estimated $57 million estate.

According to documents that were obtained by E! News, Britney’s estate is worth $57.4 million,- which includes which includes $2.7 million cash assets, and $54.7 million in non-cash assets.

Spears is no stranger to acting in TV or film, having starred in the Mickey Mouse clubhouse when she was just 12 years old alongside alumnus Ryan Gosling, Justin Timberlake, and Christina Aguilera.

The singer has had a string of TV cameos in How I Met Your Mother, Will and Grace, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Glee.

She also acted in Crossroads, alongside Zoe Saldana, and has appeared as a judge and mentor on Season 2 of The X Factor.

Canadian artist The Weeknd previously confirmed he will be starring in HBO series, The Idol.

The star served as a co-creator and will star in the six-part drama series called ‘The Idol’, which centres on a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult, who develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol.

While Britney, 39, has dropped a major hint, it hasn’t been confirmed if it is the same production that Britney and The Weeknd will be in.

Fans joined in on the excitement and commented, one said: “Crossroads 2: The Idol”, while another speculated: the movie the Weeknd is doing????”

Spears announced her engagement to her long-time boyfriend, Sam Asghari, through an Instagram post back in September.

The global icon is set to celebrate her milestone 40th birthday on December 2nd.

She commemorated her freedom in another post, stating “I mean after 13 years … I think I’ve waited long ENOUGH !!!!.”
