Britney Spears’ fiance shared an effusive birthday tribute as the pop star turned 40.
“I call you Lioness because I admire your relentless strength, I’m inspired by your beautiful heart, I celebrate your smile that lights up my world,” Sam Asghari wrote Wednesday in an Instagram post. “Everyday is your birthday my queen.”
The post included a photo showing Asghari kissing Spears, whose birthday is Thursday.
It’s the first birthday for the “Toxic” singer since her highly publicized conservatorship came to an end last month after 13 years. A judge officially ended it less than two months after her father, Jamie Spears, was removed from the court-ordered conservatorship that regulated many aspects of the pop star’s life.
“What’s next for Britney — and this is the first time this could be said for about a decade — is up to one person: Britney,” her attorney, Mathew Rosengart, said in November. “Britney, as of today, is a free woman, and she’s an independent woman.”
Spears, a Grammy winner known for hits such as “Oops!...I Did It Again” and “...Baby One More Time,” got engaged to Asghari in September.
“Oh the precious joy today !!!” Spears captioned her own Instagram post Wednesday. “Me and my fiance are so excited to be going away …. as you can see I’m not 800 pounds like the paps have me in pics … I’ve been working out and it’s real … whatever !!!! God thank you for being able to go out of the country !!!! I am blessed !!!”
