Britney Spears is speaking in court about the conservatorship which controls her life, in a bid to have her father removed and her supporters have turned up in their droves.
The 39-year-old pop singer has been under a conservatorship since 2008 and her father currently controls her financial and business decisions.
The Free Britney campaign has given the singer unequivocal support and have been very vocal and present at any court proceedings to do with the conservatorship and this was no exception.
Britney and her 68-year-old father, Jamie Spears, are believed to have fallen out after the she took issue with some of the people her father assigned to work with her in her professional life and the star wants him removed from her conservatorship so he can no longer make decisions about her work and personal life.
The star’s conservatorship is currently shared between her father and Jodi Montgomery – Britney’s longtime care manager, who was appointed by a court to hold joint conservatorship with Jamie in 2019.
Ahead of her virtual appearance in court, the organisers of the #FreeBritney campaign issued a statement in which they called on the judge to bring an end to the conservatorship.
"Because the #FreeBritney movement expects a large turnout at today’s rally, the gathering has been moved to Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles — just around the corner from the entrance to Stanley Mosk Courthouse.
"The rally will take place at 1.30pm Pacific Time."

The statement continued that Britney's lawyer Vivian Lee Thoreen had said: “Any time Britney wants to end her conservatorship, she can ask her lawyer to file a petition to terminate it; she has always had this right but in 13 years has never exercised it.”
The campaigners added in the statement: "Britney informed the court investigator, in 2016, that she wanted the conservatorship terminated as soon as possible.
“She is sick of being taken advantage of and she said she is the one working and earning her money but everyone around her is on her payroll."
