Britney Spears' dad Jamie 'concerned' about 'dangerous rhetoric' amid conservatorship

Britney Spears ' dad Jamie is said to be 'very concerned' about the 'dangerous rhetoric' that has emerged surrounding his daughter's conservatorship.

In new legal documents filed by Jamie's lawyers, the 69-year-old has spoke of his concern about the public case and added that he had been subjected to abuse and threats.

His remarks came after Britney Spears' carer, Jodi Montgomery, requested that the singer's estate cover heightened security bills - a request that Jamie opposes.

In response, Jamie told the court that he had been the target of threats for years. He also objected to Jodi's request for the estate to foot a bill of around £36,000 ($50,000) a month.

"Mr. Spears is very concerned about the situation that has been developing for many months and the dangerous rhetoric that has been circulating for quite some time regarding the Conservatorship," the legal documents read.

It added that Jamie "has been the subject of innumerable and ongoing threats as well - not just recently, but for years".

Jamie - who manages his daughter's finances - has become a figure of hate among the singer's fans after Britney spoke for the first time about her conservatorship.

At the end of June, Britney addressed a judge and delivered a harrowing testimony as she attempted to have the conservatorship ended.

In her 23-minute testimony, the mum of two claimed that she was forced to be on contraception to stop her having children and was put on lithium medication that made her feel 'drunk'.

It was the first time that the singer has publicly spoken out about her conservatorship, which she has been under for the last 13 years.

Following Britney's testimony, a judge ruled that the conservator agreement should remain in place.

Since then, Britney's lawyer Samuel Ingham, as well as her manager Larry Rudolph, have resigned from their roles.

It was also recently reported that Britney is remaining 'hopeful' that the conservatorship will come to the end in the near future.

An insider speaking to E! News said: "She's finally feeling hopeful about the future."

"She thinks people are resigning because they know she is speaking the truth.

"She is relieved her attorney resigned and hopes that if she can pick her own lawyer, it means the judge is leaning towards terminating the conservatorship."

The source added: "She's trying to be patient and see what happens. She is happy that things are starting to happen, and that the truth has finally come out."
