Britney Spears claims another No. 1 on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales

Britney Spears

Britney Spears, known for her chart-topping hits, has once again reached the pinnacle of success. This time, she has claimed the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart. This chart ranks the bestselling dance and electronic tracks in the U.S., and Spears has become a familiar name on it in recent years.

The track that has propelled Spears to the top this time is 'Selfish.' While the song is not new and has previously appeared on the chart, this is the first time it has reached the number one position. According to Luminate, 'Selfish' sold nearly 9,700 copies in the recent tracking period.

It's worth noting that Spears has achieved a No. 1 hit on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart for three years in a row. Her winning streak began in 2022 when she made a comeback to music after a long hiatus. She collaborated with Elton John on the song 'Hold Me Closer,' which swiftly climbed to the top of the chart.

In the following year, Spears scored another victory on the tally with her collaborative single 'Mind Your Business' alongside frequent collaborator Will.I.Am. Although the song didn't receive overwhelming praise, it did debut at the summit of the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart.

Throughout her career, Spears has achieved a remarkable total of five No. 1 hits on this particular chart. Interestingly, most of these successes have occurred during her relatively quieter period. In 2011, she first reached the top spot with 'Til The World Ends,' and two years later, she joined forces with Will.I.Am on 'Scream & Shout,' marking another chart-topping collaboration.

'Selfish' originally appeared on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart more than a decade ago, back in 2011. At the time, it was not released as a single but was featured on the same album as 'Til The World Ends.' Recently, the track gained renewed popularity after Justin Timberlake, Spears' ex-boyfriend, released a comeback single with the same title.

Once again, Britney Spears has proven her ability to captivate music listeners and conquer the charts. With her latest No. 1 hit on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart, she continues to solidify her stature as a pop icon, even during a period of her career that is relatively less high-profile. Spears' ongoing success on this chart only adds to her already impressive legacy in the music industry.
