Britney Spears' boyfriend Sam speaks out over claims she's 'severely distressed'

Britney spears' boyfriend has spoken out amid mounting concerns about the popstar who checked into a mental health facility last month.

Sam Asghari has assured fans that Britney is 'doing amazing' and there was no need to 'worry' about her.

Speaking to TMZ reporters, Sam said: "She's doing amazing, thankfully her fans are so amazing to be concerned... but she's doing great."

The 37-year-old singer withdrew from the spotlight in January after her father Jamie became seriously ill.

In a statement Britney announced she was taking an 'indefinite hiatus' from all work including her Las Vegas residency. It was reported weeks later that she'd checked into a 30-day treatment program suffering with 'severe emotional distress.'

While on Tuesday, Britney - who is reportedly nearing the end of the treatment program - shared a video message with fans to insist she was doing well.

Speaking to the camera, she said: "Hi guys, just checking in with all those that were concerned about me. All is well.

She then added: "You may not know this about me, but I am strong, and stand up for what I want! Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way. If you could do that, I would be forever grateful. Love you."

Britney and her family were devastated when her dad Jamie underwent emergency surgery following a life-threatening illness.
