Britney Spears news: Star assures fans 'all is well' and claims mental wellbeing rumours are 'getting out of control'

Britney Spears has assured fans “all is well” after explaining she needs time to deal “with all the hard things that life is throwing my way”.

The singer, 37, talked directly to her fans on Instagram after claiming rumours about her wellbeing started to “get out of control”.

Speaking in a video, Spears said: “Hi guys just checking in with all of you who are concerned about me. All is well.

“My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately so I just needed time to deal. But don’t worry I’ll be back very soon.”

Spears also used the caption of her Instagram upload to address some “crazy things being said” and to reassure fans she is “doing what was best at the moment”.

“I wanted to say hi, because things that are being said have just gotten out of control!!! Wow!!” she wrote. “There’s rumours, death threats to my family and my team, and just so many things crazy things being said.”

Spears said that she was “trying to take a moment for herself,” but that recent events were “making it harder” for her. She also accused her ex-manager Sam Lufti of sending fake emails in her name as she urged fans not to “believe everything they read and hear”. Lufti has vehemently denied the claims.

She finished: “I am strong, and stand up for what I want! Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way.

“If you could do that, I would be forever grateful. Love you.”

We all need to take time for a little "me time." :)

Earlier this month, Spears revealed that she was putting her new Las Vegas residency, Domination, on hold to channel her “focus and energy to care for [her] family”.

Spears posted a meaningful quote emblazoned with: “Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body, spirit.”

She captioned the post: “We all need to take a little time for a little ‘me time’.”

Her youngest sister Jamie Lynn Spears defended her sister from cruel trolls who criticised her decision to step out of the limelight.

The actress warned critics not to “come for her or those she loves” and have a say on what they “don’t understand”.
