A British woman has been murdered in an apparent love triangle, police in Cambodia said.
Jessica Cariad Hopkins, 34, was found lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds in a park near the country’s capital Phnom Penh on Friday night.
Hopkins, originally from Harpenden, had been staying at a rented property.
Congolese national Kidikila Nganda Glodie was arrested at a hair salon about 1.5 miles from the scene of the killing, officials said.
Video footage shows Glodie, 33, being taken away in handcuffs out of the business.
Commissioner Chuon Narin, of Phnom Penh Police, confirmed the arrest and said early investigations suggest the motive may be linked to a personal dispute involving romantic jealousy.
The victim was discovered with her throat slit at around 11.40pm on August 29 in the Chamkarmon district.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office told The Sun: “We are supporting the family of a British woman who has died in Cambodia and are in contact with the local authorities.”
