British Supersports: Alastair Seeley wins at Donington to lead championship

Alastair Seeley celebrated his first British Supersport win of the season on Saturday as his title rival Jack Kennedy from Dublin crashed out of contention.

The Carrickfergus rider returned to the British championship after a testing week at the North West 200 .

The Wee Wizard couldn't add to his record number of wins around the Triangle circuit but bounced back in style at Donington.

Saturday's victory means is now leading the British Supersport championship with another race on Sunday.

Seeley was  involved in an early battle with Kyle Ryder and Brad Jones, but Kennedy was the first rider to hit the deck at the Roberts chicane and crash out.

Seeley was again proving at 39 years of age he can lead and stay at the front and was delighted to take the win on his EHA Yamaha, owned by Eglington business man Edward Allingham.

Richard Kerr (Donegal) finished a well deserved ninth along with rookie Supersport rider Eugene McManus who was a magnificent 13th and Ross Pattersson (Antrim) 16th.
