The British Soap Awards return to the small screen tonight after the ceremony was cancelled by ITV last year.

The event will commemorate a monumental year in the soap opera industry, reflecting on a year filled with murder, mystery, makeup, breakups, hardships, and tears.

Hollyoaks, EastEnders, Emmerdale, and Coronation Street will compete for awards for their work during the previous 12 months.

Here is everything we know about the British Soap Awards 2025.

When are the British Soap Awards 2025?

The British Soap Awards was recorded on Saturday May 31, at the Hackney Empire in London.

The show will air on ITV1 and stream on ITVX at 8pm on Thursday, June 5, when you can tune in to see who takes home villain of the year, best dramatic performance and more.

How are the awards decided?

A combination of industry committees and viewers vote on the awards.

Who is presenting the British Soap Awards 2025?

ITV has confirmed that Jane McDonald is returning to present the awards in 2025.

McDonald's first big break came on the BBC show The Cruise in the late 1990s. Her first self-titled album peaked at the top of the UK charts when it was released in 1998.

Her most well-known role may have been as a frequent host on Loose Women during the past few decades. McDonald first appeared on the programme in 2004.

Phillip Schofield hosted the British Soap Awards for a long period before being stepping down in 2023.
